Information Provider Contract - Proposed
Before putting any information on DOC: Digital Online Community
(DOC), information providers are required to sign this contract
indicating that they have read, understand, and will comply with the Acceptable
Use Policy.

This contract is in accordance with broader DOC policy found at http://doc.frrls.net/public/policies/acceptableuse.htm.
These policies are intended to protect DOC: Digital Online Community and
Flint River Regional Library System from liability for information
created by other organizations/individuals and stored on the DOC server.
Page Standards
Each page of information provided on DOC’s server must identify
the information provider and appropriate contact information. In
addition, the organization home (main) page must follow the
standards found established by DOC: Digital Online Community and
Flint River Regional Library System.
Commercial Information
Commercial information is not permitted on the DOC. Commercial
information is defined as that directly related to "for
profit" enterprises.
However, pages that reside on the DOC server may include
"links" to
commercial information and businesses whose pages reside on other
servers. In addition, DOC encourages educational information, which
may be of assistance to area businesses (i.e. tax assistance, training
and
management resources etc.)
Obscenity
Any material that is deemed obscene under local, state, or federal
law
shall not be posted on DOC.
Libel, Hate Messages, and Violence
Information Providers shall not post libelous material, hate
messages,
or material that incites or advocates violence.
Editorial Rights and Responsibilities
The Information Provider assumes all editorial rights and
responsibilities.
In the case where an information provider contracts with an outside web
developer or for page development assistance, the information provider
still assumes all responsibility for the content of all their pages
posted on
DOC. In the case that an information provider runs any software or
applications on the DOC server, again, responsibility remains with the
information provider.
Copyright Laws
Information providers agree to comply with current state and federal
copyright laws. Copyrighted information shall not be posted on DOC
without the permission of the copyright holders. Submission of content
to DOC is done at the information provider’s risk. The information
provider, not DOC, is liable for all damages resulting from any
infringement of copyrights or any other harms. It is the
information
provider’s responsibility to ensure accuracy and appropriate content.
The information provider shall defend, indemnify, and hold harmless
DOC and the Flint River Regional Library System in all cases arising out
of any defamatory or illegal, or allegedly defamatory or allegedly
illegal
material placed in the DOC server.
Non-Compliance
If an information provider does not comply (in the opinion of the DOC
Coordinator or of the Executive Director of Flint River Regional Library
System) with the above terms, their information may be removed without
notice. The provider may appeal their case to the Executive Director of
Flint River Regional Library System or a designated staff member.
Timely and Accurate Information
The information provider is responsible for maintaining the accuracy
and
timeliness of information. The information provider will conduct
periodic
reviews of their information on DOC and adjust the content to maintain
continued relevance, accuracy, and accessibility. Under no circumstances
will DOC be liable for any loss or damage caused by a user’s reliance
on
information obtained on the DOC server.
