Wireless Network Access

Nota bene:  Each location of the Flint River Regional Library System has separate policies and procedures regarding the use of their wireless network access.  The information listed below is for the Griffin-Spalding County Library.  Please call your local library for information regarding the use of their facilities.

The Griffin-Spalding County Library is proud to be able to offer high-speed wireless network access to our patrons.  Access is free and getting online is quick and simple.  All you need is a wireless-enabled (802.11b or 802.11g compliant) laptop computer, tablet PC or PDA.  Your hardware should be able to locate the library's wireless network automatically.  No special encryption settings, usernames or passwords are required.  If you do not connect automatically, double-check the settings below.

Quick Settings:

The library is not able to provide technical assistance and cannot guarantee that you will be able to make a wireless connection.  If you need assistance, you should refer to your hardware and software documentation or manufacturer for assistance.

Wireless Network Access Acceptable Use

I will comply with all state and federal laws and library policies and procedures.

I understand and acknowledge that the Internet contains information both written and graphic, which may be offensive or harmful to me or to others.

I release the Library from all liabilities associated with accessing any information, file, etc. that I may encounter while using wireless access.

I will not harm or harass any Library employee or member of the public.

I will not violate any state or federal statute including those regarding obscenity, pornography, or delivery to minors of material deemed harmful to them.

I understand that I create, store and use personal files at my own risk and that the Library is not responsible for the loss of personal electronic documents or files.

I understand and accept that failure to comply with Library policies and procedures will result in Library penalties which may include suspension of Internet privileges or permanent eviction from the library.

I understand that the library reserves the right to change its access policies and procedures.

I understand that individual library staff members are not authorized to modify these policies.
